Anna Ruby Falls (White County, Georgia)

I've been wanting to get Mom out for more outdoor activities and had set aside today to do so. She's always interested in seeing waterfalls or mountain views or anything new to her. I've taken her to Amicolola Falls and she still talks about it. For today's adventure, I thought we would visit one of the other most famous waterfalls in northern Georgia. Anna Ruby Falls is about an hour and a half from the house and requires a drive through some beautiful country in the Appalachian Foothills.

We arrived a little before noon and took the short paved path up to the waterfall. It's not a challenging hike, but it is all uphill for the half-mile route and Mom needed to stop a few times along the way. I told her just to take her time and let me know when she needed a break. We eventually made it. She looked at the double waterfall in awe as we made our way to the the various observation decks offering different views of the natural wonder.

After a short time enjoying the scenery, we made our way back to the car. I told her we would stop for some lunch in the quaint little German-themed town of Helen, not far away. We had a nice meal before heading off to our next destination.
